Is Ledger Safe?
Yes. Ledger uses a dedicated Secure Element chip — the same technology used in bank cards and passports. Your private keys never leave the device. Even if your computer is completely compromised by malware, a hacker cannot steal your crypto without physically pressing the buttons on your Ledger.
The only security incident Ledger has ever had was a marketing database breach in 2020 — no funds were ever stolen. The devices themselves have never been compromised.
Ledger Nano S Plus — Best Value
If you want Ledger security at a lower price point, the Nano S Plus is the answer. It does not have Bluetooth (USB-C only) but otherwise offers almost identical security to the Nano X. At around £59, it is outstanding value.
Verdict
Ledger hardware wallets are the gold standard for a reason. If you are serious about holding crypto long-term, owning a Ledger is not optional — it is essential. The peace of mind alone is worth every penny.
